Wheat Puttu is a regular breakfast item at home and almost everyone loves Puttu in Kerala. There are different combinations for Puttu like Puttu and Pazham (banana) or Puttu and Kadala (Channa Masala Kerala Style) or even Puttu and Payar (green gram) and Papadam

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups of UdupiBrahmins Puttu Powder
  • Enough freshly grated coconut
  • 3/4 Cup of Water (as needed, Prefer warm water)
  • Salt according to taste.
  • Puttu kudam or puttu maker

How To Make Softest Puttu

  1. Take two cups of UdupiBrahmins Puttu Powder in a large bowl.
  2. Slightly boil the required amount of water with salt according to taste.
  3. Slowly pour warm water into the bowl containing UdupiBrahmins Puttu Powder. Mix with a spoon as you pour to ensure that the rice absorbs all the water. (Mix well with a spoon first, then use your fingers. There should be no lumps)
  4. Keep covered moistened UdupiBrahmins Puttu Powder for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Moistered Puttu Powder and grated coconut fill in Puttu Maker.
  6. Cook properly with Puttu maker
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Chef Tip: For more softness, grind moistened UdupiBrahmins Puttu powder in mixy for 3 seconds
